Senior Moves Process
If a client is not moving but wishes to stay at home. We will review the entire home with an eye to safety, ease of movement, and de-cluttering so that home is easier to navigate.
First things first –
- Consult to assess needs and determine the time frame
- Create action step and target dates for the process
Preparation –
- Sort all possessions to determine whether to sell, donate or discard
- Contact charitable organizations to arrange for pick up of items to donate (obtain tax deduction receipt)
- Contact estate sale company to assess what items can be sold
- Contact shredding company if needed
Packing –
- Pack items you want to keep but not appropriate for staging home
- Number each box and label indicating the items in box
- Create a box inventory list of items for new home and/or storage unit if needed
Final Stage –
- Contact clean out the company to remove unwanted items
